When the finish grade is above the foundation line and above the masonry veneer, this can allow for water to damage the framing and gives insects and termites an easy entry into the house. Finish grade should be eight to twelve inches below the exterior veneer with the grade falling away from the slab a minimum of 1/2 inch in 1 foot for 10 feet away from the slab.
