Round Rock Home Inspector Discovers Step Supports in Contact with the Ground

Patio step, post and stringer in contact with the ground.

This stair stringer and post are in direct contact with the ground. A temperary 2×4 was found under the step to help support the stair case. A concrete pad supports should be installed to keep the wood materials above the ground and not allow the lumber to rot and help keep termites out. If repairs are not made this could quickly become a safety hazard with the stair case becoming unusable.
